It is preffered to have the Basement in the North-East corner of the
house since the level in this corner should be the lowest in the plot.
Second preference should be give to North - West corner and South -
East corner.
It is not preffered to give basement in the South - West corner of the
house.
If basement is given below the complete building then slope should be
provided in excavation, foundations and flooring from South - West to
North - East corner of the building ie. N-E corner should always be the
lowest.
